About Anodyne Therapy
In Anodyne Therapy, nurses or therapists apply to a patient's skin pads filled with infrared light diodes. The infrared energy penetrates the skin and heats lower structures as much as 5cm down, but the effects of this treatment go beyond simple heating. The infrared energy is absorbed by red blood cells in the area, and this triggers the red blood cells to release nitric oxide. In turn, the nitric oxide stimulates a cascade of healing responses that improve nerve function, circulation in the treatment area, and more.

Wound Healing and Chronic Wounds

Dr. Lon Horowitz has used Anodyne Therapy with hundreds of patients and his research published in the journal Advanced Wound Care shows Anodyne accelerating wound healing by 40% to 55%. His published cases using Anodyne Therapy for non-healing wounds includes:
  • 40-year old venous stasis ulcer – healed in 5 months. No breakdown at 3-year follow-up
  • 13-year old venous stasis ulcer – healed in 5 months.
  • 2-year old diabetic ulcer plus a heel ulcer and dehiscent post-op wound. Patient was wheelchair bound. All healed in 5 months and patient became ambulatory for first time in 2 years.
  • Diabetic toe ulcer scheduled for amputation – healed in 4 months. No amputation needed.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Roughly a quarter of Americans age 65 to 74 live with decreased ability to feel in their feet. The percentage increases to more than half of people over the age of 85. Many of these people also report pain or discomfort in the feet. Numbness, trouble walking, and even trouble sleeping can be involved.

People often think they have to live with this life-altering condition, but did you know that multiple, peer-reviewed studies show Anodyne effective in reversing diabetic peripheral neuropathy as well as sensory impairment form multiple other causes. These studies have covered thousands of patients. Findings have included:
  • Patients realized significant decreases in the number of insensate sites after both six and 12 treatments at three treatments per week. Improvement in 71% of insensate sites has been observed. Fifty-three percent of patients deemed to have loss of protective sensation improved enough to no longer meet Medicare criteria after treatment.
  • Pain expressed on a visual analog scale reduced 67%. This was accomplished despite the fact that several cases previously had proved resistant to a variety of pain-relieving agents.
  • Patient reports of balance impairment improved by 86% after 12 treatments. At entry, 90% of subjects reported balance impairment. After treatment, only 17% reported balance problems.
